Raise the Roof

We are delighted and very proud to announce the success of our “Raise the Roof” campaign to establish an all-year indoor training facility for our community horse riding and carriage driving sessions, which will significantly enable us to expand the number and range of riding and other equestrian sessions that our centre runs at Mount Ararat, Abbey Road, Hougham, Dover.

Spearheaded by Tracey Jane Crutchfield, our ‘Raise the Roof’ campaign commenced back in October 2015, rallying the community to take part in an array of fund raising events, and receiving donations from local organisations, culminating in the award of a major grant from the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE), jointly funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Department of Food, Environment and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), managed by East Kent Local Action Group under the auspices of Kent County Council.

We have also been fortunate to receive essential help from The Pack Family Fund and also The Kent Community Foundation, who through their Kent Big Society Fund ensured that the significant funding timetable for this major project has been fully underwritten.
