Saddle Club

Saddle club logoThe Saddle Club runs at Minnismoor Stables and provides sessions for children of all abilities, from the inexperienced newcomer to the more experienced rider. The Club aims to present an interesting and informative experience for all children age 8 to 18 years. Sessions run on Saturday mornings from 10am until 12 o'clock, 2pm until 4pm . A Junior Saddle Club also runs for under 8s on Saturdays.

The Saddle Club objectives are:

  • To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.
  • To give instruction in riding and horsemastership and to educate Members to look after and to take proper care of their animal.

The Saddle Club aims to fulfil the club objectives in a enjoyable and friendly way, safety is of an upmost importance and riders must expect to follow instructions and behave in an acceptable manner. The club expects riders to learn how to look after a stabled and grass kept pony, how to handle, groom, ride and be safe around ponies. Riders are asked to wear comfortable trousers, sensible footwear and clothes suitable for the weather. The club has a range of riding hats which can be borrowed free of charge.

Riders are required to fill in an application form and provide contact telephone numbers. Payment of £6.50 per session is payable weekly and we ask that you inform the club organisers if you are unable to attend the Saturday session. Regrettably you may lose your place if you don't come for two weeks without informing us.

The Saddle Club is organised as an AVCP activity. AVCP policies apply.
